Klahowya Secondary School s providing you with an opportunity to use a product which allows you to view your child's school information via the Internet. The product, ParentCONNECTxp, will allow you to access pertinent information about your child's attendance, grades, homework assignments and a history of their academic work. With ParentCONNECTxp, we now have a tool that facilitates communication with parents, making the parent an on-going participant in the child's academic progress. Klahowya is the first school in the Central Kitsap School District to provide this service. All you need to gain access to ParentCONNECTxp is a connection to the Internet.
Is it secure/Confidential? Perhaps the issue of most concern is the lack of confidentiality that can exist over the Internet with information traveling from server to server. While the District has implemented security parameters and ParentCONNCECTxp encrypts the data, it still travels over the Internet. Parent CONNECTxp security can be equated to that of personal Internet banking accounts. While registration to the ParentCONNECTxp system will be done over the Internet, passwords must be picked up in the KSS student service office. Registered parents will receive notification via e-mail, within three working days, that their password is ready to pick up. Please be prepared show picture identification at that time. There will only be one password per household. If more than one child in a family is participating in this pilot, password access will include all students living in the household. How to Register for ParentCONNECT Parents need to have Internet access and browser (versions 3.0 or higher). Follow the instructions on the registration/login page. What Teachers Will Participate? A number of teachers have chosen to participate in this pilot. Their grades as well as assignment information will be displayed. Other teachers' grades only are visible.
