19 - NEWBERRY HERITAGE PARK
COMMUNITY MEETING
6:00 p.m. -
Room 136. The county has decided to move up the timeline for the
Newberry Hill Heritage Park, which completely surrounds Klahowya, to make it
open and accessible by summer 2010. The “Master Plan” process involves
gathering input from all members of the community in public forums to
determine what the uses of the park will be. On Nov. 19th,
members of the Central Kitsap Community Council, the NHHP Stewardship
Committee, the Parks Advisory Board, Kitsap County Parks and Recreation
staff, and Commissioner Josh Brown will meet with anyone interested in
activities in the park. Klahowya students will have many opportunities to
make use of the park. If you have ideas for the park lands or just want
more information, please plan on coming to this event.
