Sports Information

Spring practices for high school football, volleyball and basketball begin the week of May 28th. 
Fall sports begin on the following dates:
Wednesday, August 21 -- High school football
Monday, August 26 -- High school cross country (both boys and girls), girls soccer, girls swim, boys tennis and girls volleyball.
Wednesday, September 4 -- Middle school football, volleyball and girls cross country.
In order to participate in any summer or fall sports activity, students must complete required eligibility forms (see below).

IKlahowya Secondary School Sports
Required Eligibility Clearance Process
Student-athletes intending to try out for or participate in sports at Klahowya Secondary School should complete the the three required forms: Athletic Clearance, Head Concussion and Physical Exam (see links below for the forms). Once the form is completed and printed be sure that both parent and athlete initial each appropriate area. The completed documents should be delivered to the school main office prior to the first day of practice.  Only one clearance form and head concussion form is need per school year as long as all appropriate sports are initialed/identified.  The physical exam is good for two years from the date of the exam.  Students are not guaranteed a tryout or participation if submission of required documents occurs after the deadline.

*  Athletic Participation and ASB Privilege fees apply prior to participating at the first athletic event.

Athletic Participation Fees
Students playing High School sports will pay a fee of $75.00 per sport to a maximum of $150 per year.*
Students playing Middle School sports will pay a fee of $50.00 to a maximum of $100 per year.*
Once the athlete has been accepted on the team the fee is due.  Payment can be made at the bookkeepers office or on-line.
*All students participating in sports and activities are also required to purchase an ASB card for $30.

Game Entrance Fees
Olympic League high school Football, Basketball, and Wrestling Game Entrance Fees:
*  Adults and Students without an ASB card - $6.00
*  KSS Students at Home Game with ASB card - Free
*  Visiting Students with ASB card and Elementary Students - $4.00
*  Seniors 62 and over - $2.00
*  Students 5 yrs and under - Free
All other HOME Sport games are free

Medication Forms
Athletes may carry and self administer certain medications.  In addition to the Medication at School form the Authorization for Student to Self-Administer Epi-Pen or Inhaler form must be completed.  Forms should be given to the main office.

Transportation and Forms
A Transport Own Child form should be completed if a parent wants their child to ride home with them following an event, rather than school transportation. If an athlete is to ride home with another parent please complete an Authorization for Student to Travel with Another Parent form.  The form should be given to the coach prior to the athletic event.

Students who are not in a SUPERVISED after school sport or activity immediately after school need to leave the building at the end of the school day.  Students who drive themselves should leave as soon as the busses depart; students who do not drive are expected to take the bus home or be picked up promptly (no later than 2:15).
